Anne Hoffman is a writer and multimedia producer based in Washington, DC. Her work explores themes of home and spiritual homelessness. She has worked extensively in the Latino community in the United States, and tells the stories of immigrants who gave up  everything to cross the border and head north. The nostalgia they feel for their countries, juxtaposed with the often cold American social world and dire economics of migrant life, provide the heartbreaking background in many of her stories.

Anne’s work has appeared on NPR Music, DCentric, The Portland Phoenix, The Common Language Project and the Matador Network. As a producer, Anne has worked with WorldLink (Deutsche Welle), NPR’s Alt.Latino and the award-winning Kojo Nnamdi Show.

A graduate of the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies, Anne studied creative nonfiction and documented the growth of the first ever Latino Evangelical congregation in Portland, Maine. She has lived in Chile, Mexico, Spain, France and Argentina. She holds a degree from Oberlin College where she studied Political Memory.
